Bambi Preschool is a place that grows alongside children, supporting their development and needs, inspiring exploration and communication. It is a space where freedom of speech and choice, openness, and equality are respected. We believe in the boundlessness of children’s potential for healthy and positive growth and development.

Our History

The first organized form of preschool education within the framework of the Eight-Year School began operating on December 16, 1945. By decision of the Ministry of Education in May 1952, the kindergarten moved into the building called “Old Barrack.” One teacher worked with a single group of children. Starting from the 1960/1961 school year, the number of children increased, leading to the formation of two educational groups with two teachers.

Due to increasing interest, the construction of a new facility began during the 1975/1976 school year. The facility started operating on February 19, 1977, providing conditions for work in three educational groups with accompanying rooms.

Soon, there was a need to open a nursery in Tivat, so a prefabricated building was constructed next to the kindergarten, which began operating on May 1, 1978.

During the 1985/1986 school year, a branch was opened in Radovići, as part of the Branko Brinić Elementary School.

A new, modernly equipped building was opened in Donja Lastva on September 1, 1988. The work was carried out in six educational groups, two of which were nurseries. In 2013, the facility in Tivat was renovated and expanded.

Present Day

Today, the Public Preschool Institution “Bambi” in Tivat consists of three educational units, with 26 educational groups accommodating over 1,000 children.

The educational unit in Tivat has 16 educational groups, 5 for nursery-aged children and 11 for kindergarten-aged children.

The educational unit in Donja Lastva has 9 educational groups, 4 for nursery-aged children and 5 for kindergarten-aged children.

The educational unit in Radovići has two groups – a mixed educational group and an older educational group.

The objectives of preschool education followed by our institution are:

Creating conditions for children’s life, development, and learning

Developing the ability to understand and accept oneself and others

Developing the ability to collaborate, respecting diversity, and participating in group activities

Developing the ability to recognize emotions and encouraging emotional experience and expression

Nurturing curiosity, a spirit of inquiry, imagination, and intuition, as well as developing thinking skills

Encouraging language development to foster creativity and the creative use of speech for reading and writing, as part of preparation for education

Encouraging the appreciation of artistic works and artistic expression

Enriching children’s experiences through various everyday activities

Promoting physical and motor development

Developing independence, hygiene habits, and concern for health

Developing a positive attitude towards nature and environmental protection

Key Objectives

The key tasks of our preschool institution are:

Providing equal access, opportunities, and conditions for all children in the institution

Organizing a stimulating environment that respects linguistic and cultural differences so that children in the kindergarten find a place to live their rights

Organizing daily activities with flexibility to meet the needs of children and parents

Constantly encouraging and adapting the learning environment to enhance children’s abilities, spontaneous expression of ideas, thoughts, skills, and affinity for visual and dramatic arts

Fulfilling the basic psychophysical needs of preschool children: enabling each child to socialize, think critically, and make thoughtful choices

Allowing children to observe weather phenomena and understand the importance of nature and its preservation through time spent outdoors
